I am Renee (Ciru) Kihanya, a filmmaker from Nairobi, Kenya, now based in Los Angeles. I have recently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy. Having lived in Kenya and the Middle East, my multicultural background deeply influences my work, which explores the complexity of the human experience. I am passionate about telling Kenyan stories from a non-Western perspective, with a focus on Directing, Screenwriting, Photography, and Production Assisting. My creative approach blends cultural authenticity with strong visual storytelling.
